Today we are going to focus on three conjunctions:

“And” is used to connect similar ideas or actions.

  • Example: “She reads books and writes in her journal.”

“But” is used to show contrast or an exception between two ideas.

  • Example: “He likes coffee but she prefers tea.”

“Because” is used to explain the reason or cause for something.

  • Example: “They study hard because they want to pass their class.”

Exercise

Simple Present

Complete the sentences using “because”, “and”, “but”
